In 1999, Shanghai Jinmao Tower with 420.5m height which is located in Lujiazui rose on the ground surpassed the Oriental Pearl Tower main body with 350meter height, it became the new landmark of the Oriental Capital. therefore new page was opened in the legendary chapter of Shanghai city landmarks.

Nowadays, almost everyone who comes to Shanghai will be amazed by the row upon row of skyscrapers in the city, and Jin Mao Tower together with those updated skyscrapers are touching every step of Shanghai's development.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Located in the prime location of Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area, Jin Mao Tower is across the river from the famous Bund Scenic Area.

Jin Mao Tower covers an area of 24,000 square meters, integrating modern office buildings, five-star hotels, convention and exhibition centers, entertainment, shopping malls and other facilities. It combines Chinese tower style with Western architectural art and becomes one of Shanghai's famous attractions .

The façade of Jin Mao Tower is composed of a series of large pieces of metal and glass, retracted at the edges, and fixed to the slightly protruding vertical "spine" in the center. The overall outline of the building resembles a simple ancient Chinese tower. The top of the building is a crown composed of uneven scales, and it is decorated with tapered spires. When night falls, the sparkling crown shows the charm of Shanghai's landmarks, which is very eye-catching.

Roleds played a key role in In the lighting project of Jinmao tower. As representative landmark building of Shanghai, the lighting design of Jinmao Tower is considered and planned from multiple angles, not only to express the three-dimensional sense of Jin Mao Tower, but also to show the ultimate light and shadow, it is expected to achieve high performance in visual and fashion integration innovation. It is big challenge to the project itself.

The total height of Jin Mao Tower is 420.5 meters. The lighting requirements is to light up the entire building evenly, which set extremely high requirements for products. Roleds matrix KW Flood light provides kilowatt-level RGBW lighting solutions for LED outdoor super high-rise buildings. Its excellent light efficiency can easily hold super high-rise buildings.

In the process of test and commissioning, 120 sets of RTG180 three rows and three sets of kilowatt flood light, and the Shanghai Jin Mao Tower was evenly illuminated from the bottom of the building facade with a small angle of 3.5 degrees, thus facade contour of the building shines.

The Jinmao Building at night turns into fashionable luminous building, forming a strong visual impact. The color temperature of the light is 5700K, cold temperature highlights the high-end and domineering of the building.
