 Hangzhou Canal Park 

As a large newly built stadium in the main urban area of Hangzhou, Hangzhou Canal Park has established its status and influence at the beginning of construction.

Beautiful scenery, green grass, clear water surrounding the canal park, The advanced intelligent and humanized facilities equipped with the park has fanned Hangzhou citizens and it has become a popular check-in landmark. The park is even more beautiful decorated with lights at night.

ROLEDS is honored to participate in the project to light up the Hangzhou Canal Park, as the project's smart lighting overall solution provider, ROLEDS continue to set high standards and high requirements, practice the concept of green and low-carbon, to light up two venues shine dazzlingly, showing the Chinese style, Zhejiang characteristics and Hangzhou charm.

Lighting design concept

Canal Park is located in Gongshu District, Hangzhou, covering an area of 701 acres, with a total construction area of 185,000 square meters, consisting of "one museum, one square and two centers", and is the first comprehensive urban sports park in Zhejiang Province that integrates gymnasiums, parks, sports fields and commercial facilities. During the Hangzhou Asian Games, many events such as table tennis, break dancing and hockey will be held.

The lighting design is based on the main line of "the sunset reflects the Gongshu, picturesque Asian Games", and the overall night light environment creates an Asian Games park that expresses the canal culture and the cultural heritage of Gongshu, which is both quiet and full of the sense of the times; Highlight a tense, flexible and practical lighting for the competition venue.

Table Tennis Game Stadium

The Canal Park Stadium located in the south of the park, will host the table tennis and break dancing events during Hangzhou Asian Games , also known as the "National Ball Center".

Inspired by the Chinja of Liangzhu culture, the irregular oval shape of stadium architecture is surrounded by the Beizhuang River,  seen from the air, it’s like the pebbles in the river, leisurely resting in the landscape, forming a natural combination with the undulating slopes.

Through the detailed depiction of different parts of the building by lighting, it reflects the form of "Chinja" and spreads Hangzhou culture and Chinese civilization.

ROLEDS high-quality intelligent lighting products combine lighting design, accurate light control, uniform overall light color, highlighting the soft and elegant artistic characteristics of the building, highlighting the Chinese style.

 Hockey Game Stadium

The Canal Asian Park Stadium located north of the park, will host hockey events during the Asian Games. The stadium roof is covered by a lightweight and elegant large-span space structure, shaped like a oil paper umbrella, known as the "Hangzhou umbrella".

ROLEDS highlights the characteristics of the "oil paper umbrella" material by strictly controlling the overall light environment performance, so as to express the unique charm and soft form of the building.

The project adheres to green environmental protection, advocates green Asian Games and sustainable use, ROLEDS achieves the goal of energy saving and low carbon through smart lighting, and accurately controls the presentation of lighting, creates a soft light environment atmosphere, and reduces urban light pollution.
